Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Wherever available, DOIs and URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Information for Authors

Manuscript submissions

Manuscript submission implies that manuscript has not already been published and is not under consideration for publishing elsewhere until decision on manuscript rejection is given. It is also implied that submitted manuscript has been approved by all co-authors as well as responsible authorities. EBT will not be held legally responsible if there should be any claims for compensation.

Before manuscript submission, make sure that manuscript is written according to these guidelines; otherwise the manuscript won’t be taken into consideration for publishing.

  • Papers submitted for publication should be written in English
  • The text should be concise
  • At the beginning of the paper, under the title, the name(s) of the author(s) ought to be given
  • Manuscripts must be single-sided and typed using single space
  • Manuscript should contain: Title, Abstract, Keywords, JEL Classification, Main Text, Acknowledgments, References
  • Abstract may have a maximum of 250 words. Abstract should be written as a continuous text that consists of one paragraph only. Abstract should not have any special headings (Goals, Results…), while references should be avoided. Also, non-standard or uncommon abbreviations should
  • Put keywords in new line after abstract and list up 4-6 keywords. Separate keywords with a comma (,). Keywords not overlapping with those used in the manuscript title are recommended. Don’t use any special symbols or abbreviations as keywords.
  • Tables and figures are encouraged in articles and must be placed within the text
  • Manuscripts must conform to APA 7th edition standard for both referencing and style.
  • Follow the author-date method of citation in text. Ensure you provide page numbers for all direct quotes. Prepare an unnumbered reference list in alphabetical order by author. When there is more than one article by the same author(s), list the most recent paper first. References should include the names of all contributing authors. Ensure that all references are accurate and that any references cited in the text also appear in the reference section.

Formating

For text formatting, you should use the following sizes of font Times New Roman:

  • Title of paper (style heading 1: font formats - times new roman, 12 pt bold, all caps; paragraph formats: centered, spacing before 30 pt, spacing after 0 pt, keep with next, keep lines together)
  • Abstract (Style Abstract: 9 pt, italic, pt, justified, 0.75 pt left and right indentation)
  • Key word (Style Abstract: 9 pt, italic, pt, justified, 0.75 pt left and right indentation)
  • Main heading (style heading 3: small caps 10 pt, centered, spacing before 24 pt, spacing after 6 pt, keep with next, keep lines together)
  • Subheading (Style Heading 4: 10 pt, bold, left, indentation left 5 pt,
    spacing before 12 pt, after 6 pt, keep with next, keep lines together)
  • Tables should be numbered with consecutive Arabic numbers. They should have descriptive captions at the top of each table and should be mentioned in the text.
  • All illustrations (figures, photographs, line drawings, graphs) should be numbered in series and all legends should be included at the bottom of each illustration.
